So last night after Triston's first birthday (which was awesome) we went to the Shriners Circus. The last time we went Angel was 3 and Jasmine was 1... The girls were sooo excited! We got to the circus a little early so that the girls could ride the ponies and we could get a good seat. Angel rode all by herself and I walked next to Jasmine with their ponies. It was too CUTE! As the circus began and progressed the girls were in absolute awe with all of the sights and amazing tricks the people and animals could do. They LOVED the tigers, horses, dogs, monkeys and elephants that performed! They couldn't take their eyes off of the high wire performers, especially when a man rode a motorcycle on the high wire. The finale was a man being shot out of a canon! Oh and I can't leave out the best part! When we got to the circus I bought each of the girls a program book (with pictures and coloring pages, etc). Well during intermission they announced that if you had a gold star on page 3 of your program then the child won a bicycle... Angel had a gold star! She won a girls bike! So after the circus we got to go down and get her bike and she wanted to walk it out to the car all by herself because it was HER bike. Everyone was leaving and kept looking at us walking out of the circus with the bike (they only gave 8 away with hundreds of people in attendance). Angel was so PROUD! I'm glad my trunk was empty cause the bike barely fit! The trunk wouldn't close of course and the whole way home Angel worried about her bike falling out the back! It was too cute! Every time we hit a bump she would turn around and check on her bike and make sure it was ok. Both kids were dead asleep by the time we got home so I carried them in and tucked them in bed... We all had a GREAT time!

Such a long week! I've been busy getting caught up on my housework and paying bills. The girls are visiting their aunt Juli and their mom tonight so I get a night off to prepare for my show tomorrow. I am starting a home-based business selling jewelry from Premier Design in order to earn some extra money. I am having my first show tomorrow! I'm excited about my business venture!

Also this weekend, Triston (nephew) is having his 1st birthday! We will be attending his birthday at gymboree on Sunday after church. Then I'm surprising the girls with tickets to the circus Sunday evening! It's going to be a fun-filled, exciting weekend!

a day off

So today was President's Day and a holiday for state employees as well as schools, yay! The kids decided they wanted to go to Scott Mountain (Mt Scott) and climb around. We got up and packed a lunch and headed down to the mountains. It was about an hour and a half drive but worth it! We climbed around the top of Mt Scott, had a picnic, walked around the visitor's center, saw some wildlife, and stopped at Burger King on the way home for dinner and playing at the playplace. Long, fun-filled day! No naps so by the time we got home it was bath time and bedtime! It was really great getting out of the house and away from everything for a day. Back to work and school (for the kids) tomorrow... :-(

first blog..and other firsts :-)

So I'm just starting to blog...

This weekend we had a couple of other "firsts" at our house.

Angel had her FIRST SLEEPOVER. She invited a friend that she goes to daycare with to our home to play and have a sleepover on friday night. At first her friend, Renee, was a little shy (this being her first time to sleep over at someone's house that wasn't family). But after a some warming up she was one of the family. Angel and Renee spent the evening playing dress-up, house, and littlest pet shop. Then we all watched a movie, The Great Mouse Detective, together. Renee was ready to go to bed and kept asking "Is it bedtime yet?" So after the movie everyone brushed their teeth and got pajamas on and got into bed... It was only 8:45pm. We did our usual bedtime routines: read a book, call mom, say prayer, and hug and kisses and tucking in. The girls were way too excited to sleep and spent the next hour and a half talking and giggling in bed! I remember those days! They all finally crashed around 10:00pm... And were up again before 7:00am! We ate some cereal (kids voted and this was the consensus) then Angel and Renee wanted to take a bath and play. Jasmine hung out with me and took a bath after the girls. Renee's mom came to get her around 10:30am and Renee was NOT ready to go! She wanted to stay and play longer... I told her we would do this again soon! Fun times!

Jasmine had her first PLAYDATE at our house today. Jasmine invited her friend Addy from daycare to play at our house for a few hours. Addy was not sure about letting her dad go when he dropped her off but quickly warmed up to playing with the girls. Angel mostly hung out with me and didn't want to play with the little girls but that was just fine! Jasmine and Addy played with Jasmine's pony, Smartcycle, playdough, and baby dolls. The playdate was GREAT! Addy wanted to stay longer when her mother came to pick her up... The girls entered into a wild game of chase all through the living room and playroom while I talked with Addy's mom. We agreed to do this again soon. So much fun!

Weird side note, Angel's two friends that she has ahd playdates with, Kinley and Renee, AND Jasmine's friend Addy ALL have moms with the first name Tiffany! Strange coincidence! I'm going to be so confused when their moms call me!
